JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of this class is to lead a department that is responsible for purchasing goods and services for all departments while performing within the Texas purchasing code and City of Brownsville Purchasing Procedures. The position oversees the procurement of goods and services, solicits contracts, and negotiates services. This position is also responsible for overseeing or preparing bids and requests for proposals, managing purchase orders, preparing contracts and other procurement needs. The position will be responsible for planning, organizing and implemented major policies and procedures, reporting progress of major activities to executives and the Commission through reports and conferences.
